JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Gov. Sean Parnell says he expects the next benchmarks he set for progress on a major natural gas pipeline to be met.

He says the companies are working hard to meet the milestones.

There are two coming up.

By the end of September, Parnell wants discussions to be complete on the potential that exists for a major gas line project and a proposed in-state gas pipeline to consolidate.

He also wants the companies to identify a project and work schedule and to provide some numbers on the cost for a liquefied natural gas project.

I have seen the writing on the wall by Big Oil regarding the excitement of gas finds. Liquified Natural Gas is the product they all want to export to other countries. There is a big market for it and they will pay several times what we pay here in the USA. One energy corporation in the Gulf States already has a permit to export LNG with many more seeking permission. This may be big news for Big Oil but not for the American consumer. All the time ignoring us in the need for CNG for transportation which they know would hurt gasoline sales.

The Natural Gas Pipeline would help get it all over the country I would hope and make it more available to everyone in the United States.

If we can spread natural gas into more areas, maybe the usage of oil we lower.

It would be good for the pipeline milestones to be net. The USA and the world needs the energy that will flow through the pipeline and other projects.
